The emergence of electric tapping knife technology is to reduce the labor intensity of rubber workers, the difficulty of tapping technology and to alleviate the shortage of tapping labor force. Rubber Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Science has organized scientific researchers to tackle the technical problems of electric tapping knives and developed two types of portable electric tapping knives in the past two years.
"These two electric tapping knives are equipped with special cutting surface protection devices, which can not only control the depth of tapping but also control the skin consumption in the range of 1.5 to 3.0 mm, reducing the pressure of the rubber knife on the milk tube of the rubber tree, increasing latex emissions. "
A researcher from the Institute said, "We have improved the number of blades, blade chisel slope, and blade material to reduce the vibration of the taping knife and make the blade sharper and more durable."
The portable rotary tapping knife looks like a cylindrical flashlight. It is a horizontal gripping rubber cutting knife and can perform the cutting operation by turn on the power button.
"This 'semi-fool' type rotary cutting rubber knife integrates electronic and circuit signal and adopts zero transmission mode, which effectively reduces energy consumption and weight, makes the tapping operation easier." Cao Jianhua said.
Researchers from the Institute have tested these two types of electric tapping knives on many farms in Hainan. The results show that using an electric tapping knife, a rubber worker can cut 800 to 900 rubber trees in a morning, and the overall output has increased by about 10%, which is praised by the farm rubber workers.
The emergence of electric tapping knives has makes it easier for the workers. It can reduce costs, and has less impact on the environment and finished products.
